Beetles & Other Classic Cars Celebrated in Gaza

Automotive enthusiasts are enthralled after Gaza hosted its first-ever classic car show in Gaza. Several Middle Eastern classic car fans came together in Gaza where over 30 cars were displayed, even though classic cars are rare in the country and the roads are of poor quality. The cars ranged in age from late 1930s to the late 1970s, and were gradually imported from Egypt over a number of years.

The major highlights of the event was the pristine Volkswagon Beetle made in 1973, as well as some classic vehicles used by Yasser Arafat, the previous Palestinian leader. Classic car fans were enthusiastic about the show because it represented more than just simple cars. Some automotive enthusiasts expressed that it was a part of their heritage.
